If it were Barbie, Disney princess, or any other licensed character I think I would have cried and tried to get her to change her mind but this idea she had was pretty great. I had not heard of nor seen such costumes on anyone in the previous years trick-or-treating so how could I say "no" to such an original, creative idea?
So I set out to create the costumes she so wanted to wear.
A rooster and a sunshine.
Pretty amazing, huh? Creative thinking for a three year old. She did have a little inspiration courtesy of Netflix and an early 90's movie from mine and Daddy's childhood: Rock A Doodle
Brown shirt, women's tights, and an abundance of feathers made up our lovely Chantecler. The sunshine was courtesy of foam, fleece and sparkly tulle. A lot of hot glue and sewing needles later here is how they came out:
